Born and raised in eastern Tennessee, I have been interested in radio and electronics since I was old enough to tear up my Dads drill at age 6. My first brush with the law was at age 12, when the FCC came to my house to arrest me. I was operating a homemade AM radio station (about 10 watts), using the cable TV ground as an neighborhood antenna. The guys in black suits had come to the house to arrest an adult person---Not some snot nosed kid !!! 
 I am a Electrical Engineer with 30+ years in industrial control, CNC, PLC, Robotics and machine integration.
I got my first Novice license in 1976, but due to family obligations, never really had the money or time to be completely involved. Last year (October) at the Gray Tennessee Hamfest I took the Technician, and General test and passed both. The VE's encouraged me to take the Extra, but I was not really prepared. I did the electronics and calculations easily (due to past experience) but really didnt have a clue about the Regulations questions.

If you hear me talking or on PSK31 you will probably hear me asking questions!!
